This policy details the process for requesting permanent deletion of your account and associated data from our VTU platform for airtime, data, and bill payments across Nigeria.

We are committed to compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and other applicable data protection laws. This policy ensures you have clear, accessible information about your right to data deletion.

Important Notice

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once completed, you will lose access to all ALAFINDATA services, transaction history, and any remaining wallet balance. Please ensure you have withdrawn any funds before proceeding with account deletion.

Eligibility for Account Deletion

Who can request deletion of their account and data

To request account deletion, you must meet the following criteria:

Registered Account Holder

You must have an active ALAFINDATA account with verified contact information.

You must be at least 18 years old. Accounts belonging to minors will be terminated upon discovery.

You must be able to verify your identity through the email or phone number associated with your account.

Note: If you have any pending transactions or unresolved issues with your account, we may need to resolve these before processing your deletion request.

Step-by-step guide to request account deletion

Follow these steps to request deletion of your ALAFINDATA account and personal data:

  • Phone number linked to your account
  • Email address associated with your account

Once verified, we will process your request and send a final confirmation email when your account and data have been permanently deleted.

Upon successful verification of your deletion request, we will permanently remove the following personal data from our systems:

Account Information

Your name, email, phone number, password, and profile details.

Transaction History

Records of airtime top-ups, data purchases, bill payments, and wallet transactions.

Device Information

Device type, operating system, IP addresses, and unique identifiers.

Usage Analytics

Information about how you interacted with our app and services.

Data Retention Exceptions

In compliance with Nigerian regulations, we may retain certain anonymized transaction records for legal, tax, or audit purposes. However, this retained data will not contain any personally identifiable information that could be linked back to you.
